As the Alumni Community Manager, you will be the voice of the Starbucks Alumni Community, specifically engaging with an active community of former Starbucks partners connected by shared experiences and a love of coffee and community. This requires strong communication skills and a passion for driving best-in-class experiences that increase engagement and advocacy opportunities. This includes comprehensive listening, highlighting trends, and surprising and delighting our community.

 

Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated history of administrating and thoughtfully managing online communities. This is an opportunity to be an integral part of a cross-functional team that is innovating in our approach to digital communications, connections, and engagement. You will manage a CRM (Customer Relationship Management tool), collaborate on the creation of and be responsible for posting content across various channels, and be responsible for all metrics and data, identifying relevant trends and strategic insights to share with the team.

 

As an online community manager, you will…

  • Manage the overall alumni community platform including site admin, content & community management, insights, and communications.
  • Work closely with brand manager, content creators, and internal stakeholders for online community strategy and editorial calendar development.
  • Support content development by providing a customer-first, social perspective on the work.
  • Stage and post all content, across the web, email, and social, including, short form, long form, video, email, and newsletter.
  • Generate insight into community health and performance, providing reporting on relevant issues and desired outcomes as well as recommendations for improvement.
  • Engage with alumni on organic and owned content, internally and externally, monitoring and responding to emails and chats from alumni and updating CRM and moderation guide.
  • Maintain all relevant alumni data from various sources inputted into an existing QBR template, analyzing and presenting insights for the internal team and relevant stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of social platform capabilities and online engagement tools.
  • Tactical mastery of building an online community, and interacting with consumer audiences.
  • Experience working in an enterprise environment with multiple stakeholders and teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time, and self-management skills.
  • Consistent and strong collaborator across teams.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines – Change management skills.
  • Strong professional customer service skills.
  • Marketing and content development experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle and resolve sensitive escalations.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

 

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
