As a senior strategy manager on the Partner Centric Scheduling team, you will play an important role in helping us to reinvent scheduling for our hourly partners and store managers at Starbucks, ensuring that the schedules our partners live better reflect their preferences and needs. You will lead the development and execution of scheduling-focused programs and projects, coordinating the efforts of cross-functional teams – including Analytics & Insights, Store Operations, Partner Resources (HR), Starbucks Technology and Communications – to help Starbucks accelerate toward its vision to have the best jobs in retail. You will contribute to an improved partner experience by identifying key issues and opportunities, developing a cross-functional problem-solving approach and developing and communicating recommendations to leaders. This role will help us to meaningfully change the scheduling paradigm at Starbucks and serve as an inspiration for other hourly employers in the retail, food service and hospitality industries.

Leveraging your previous experience, we will enable you to engage across various aspects of partner-centric scheduling:

Strategy & Prioritization

 

  • Support with identifying and setting strategic priorities, company business goals and desired partner outcomes backed by data and insights
  • Lead strategic problem-solving efforts to identify key issues, develop hypotheses and design required analyses
  • Conduct analyses and problem solve to make informed recommendations to organizational and enterprise leadership
  • Simplify and translate complex and ambiguous problems into clear pathways to implementation

Planning & Execution

 

  • Guide cross-functional teams in thinking about complex and ambiguous issues and identify creative solutions
  • Partner with various business units to set goals, build implementation plans and develop capability across key business units
  • Ensure successful execution of key program objectives, adjusting priorities and approach as needed to manage emerging issues, support retail leaders and deliver results
  • Leverage the power of storytelling to inspire and compel leaders, partners and shareholders

  • Passion for strategy development, retail workforce innovation and storytelling
  • Competency in setting strategies, prioritizing, communicating and reporting results
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills with proven ability to drive outcomes
  • Compelling and persuasive oral and written storytelling skills and strong executive presence
  • Experience developing change management and communications plans with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success developing and deploying comprehensive strategies – 3 years
  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical leadership at junior/intermediate level – 3 years
  • Experience in strategic consulting, brand/product management or analytics – 5 years
  • Established experience with program management and leading cross-functional teams – 5 years
  • Experience supporting operating plans, timeline management, and business casing – 5 years

  • If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
